I am a mere part-time journalist in London and Priyanka Chopra was once a normal girl with big dreams. I am following my dreams one step and a time and she’s working hard to achieve what her father always dreamt she would. Today, as I write words that I sincerely hope get to her some day, my heart is overwhelmed with pride.
Just a day after your big Baywatch announcement, I feel absolutely compelled to share my feelings to the world. You’ve just signed your first Hollywood movie! I mean, isn’t that just a coolest and most amazing thing ever? The last few months will have been a bit of a whirlwind I imagine what with Quantico and Bajirao Mastani and also Jai Gangaajal. So much so has been the speed of your achievements that even Dil Dhadakne Do must feel like a distant memory even though the film hasn’t even marked a year since release yet.
I have been lucky enough to interview you – the first time in person and the second on the phone. Before I met you for the face-to-face interview in 2013, I often wondered whether you would be as charming, as beautiful and as easy to talk to as you came across in the media interactions I’d seen you engage in on the TV. And, indeed, you were absolutely no different. Now, when I think back, I can absolutely remember the spark I felt when I met you. It’s almost as if you were always destined for bigger, better and more amazing things than you’d already done.
Today, I want to say thank you… and I’m sure I’m not the only one who does. I want you to know that what you’re achieving is not only putting India firmly on the map but giving every girl hope that if you work hard enough and you dream big enough then you can achieve beyond what you ever think you’re capable of. You are standing as an icon in a world that was unfamiliar to you, in a time that was uncertain for you with people who were unknown to you… and you are standing strong, beautiful and as the shining star that you always have been (only a lot brighter!).
Finally, I just want to say that I hope you remain this unstoppable for as long as you can. There are absolutely millions of us who love you, are proud of you and who want you to shine brighter, rise higher and continue to raise the bar. You are an inspiration to so many and may you never ever forget that.
Please don’t stop being UNSTOPPABLE!
